2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Collection MS67 Red (Red Designation) PCGS Presidency

The Presidency Lincoln Penny was the last coin in the Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Program. In 2009, the U.S. Mint issued four different pennies throughout the year in recognition of the bicentennial (200th anniversary) of Lincoln’s birth and centennial (100th anniversary) of the first year of the Lincoln cent. The themes on the reverses represent the four major aspects of Lincoln’s life.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in a small log cabin like the one shown on this one-cent coin. The final design, Presidency Washington DC, illustrates the half-finished U.S. Capitol dome in Washington, D.C., symbolizing Lincoln's presidency during the Civil War.
